N.M. Admin. Code § 8.370.14.6 - OBJECTIVE
A. Establish
standards for licensing assisted living facilities in order to ensure that
residents receive appropriate care and services, and regulate to ensure that
the health, safety, and welfare of individuals residing and working in such
facilities are protected.
B.
Establish requirements for the construction, maintenance and operation of
licensed assisted living facilities that will provide a safe, humane and
homelike environment for adults who need assistance or supervision with
activities of daily living but who do not need acute care, continuous nursing
care, skilled nursing care or care in an intermediate care facility for the
mentally retarded.
C. Regulate
facilities in providing care for residents and utilizing available supportive
services in the community to meet the needs of the residents.
D. Ensure facility compliance with these
rules through established protocols to identify circumstances which could be
harmful or dangerous to the health, safety, or welfare of the
resident.
