Ohio Admin. Code 1501:47-7-16 - Lake Lorelei, Brown county
Upon the waters of lake Lorelei, it is unlawful for any person to operate or permit the operation of a powercraft:
(A)
At a speed greater than thirty-five miles per hour from
sunrise to sunset within the water-ski or open zone.
(B)
At a speed
greater than six miles per hour from sunset to sunrise within the water-ski or
open zone.
(C)
At greater than idle speed, or at a speed that creates
a wake within one hundred fifty feet of the marina, gasoline dock, and launch
ramp.
(D)
At greater than idle speed or at a speed that creates a
wake within the coves and the mouth of Glady Run.
(E)
In the designated
speed and ski zone in a manner that is inconsistent with the established
counter-clockwise direction of travel, keeping the near shoreline on the
starboard (right) side of the vessel.
Exceptions:
(1)
It is permissible
for a powercraft to deviate from the counter-clockwise direction of travel only
when the operator is picking up a fallen water-skier.
(2)
A powercraft
being utilized by the lake Lorelei ski club is exempt from the
counter-clockwise direction of travel when navigating the ski slalom
course.
A "wake," as used in this rule, is defined as a track left by a watercraft in the water causing waves or swells.
