Ohio Admin. Code 3358:11-3-62 - Residency determination policy

(A) Purpose. The residency status of a student determines tuition surcharges to the student and the college's subsidy payments. Determination of a student's residency status is necessary for the assessment of tuition surcharges and state subsidy payments. Owens community college shall follow the statutory requirements of the Revised Code for the defined status of a resident of Ohio, including but not limited to section 3333.31 of the Revised Code and rule 3333-1-10 of the Administrative Code for rules for determining student residency.
(B) Implementation. The chief student affairs officer or designee will implement procedures, guidelines and forms, which are consistent with the provisions of this rule. Guidelines.

(1) The residency status of each student is determined during the admissions process based upon the information available to make that particular decision.

(2) This decision is revocable, but the student must appeal through the residency review process.

(a) The completed petition is reviewed by the residency review committee for final determination by the residency officer.

(b) This process must be completed prior to the beginning of classes for the semester being petitioned.
