Ohio Admin. Code 3745-7-05 - Classification of professional operator certification

(A) The following are classifications for which professional operators may be certified under this chapter:
(1) Public water system professional operator A (class A water supply professional operator); .
(2) Public water system professional operator I (class I water supply professional operator); .
(3) Public water system professional operator II (class II water supply professional operator); .
(4) Public water system professional operator III (class III water supply professional operator); .
(5) Public water system professional operator IV (class IV water supply professional operator); .
(6) Water distribution professional operator I (class I water distribution professional operator); .
(7) Water distribution professional operator II (class II water distribution professional operator); .
(8) Treatment works professional operator A (class A wastewater works professional operator); .
(9) Treatment works professional operator I (class I wastewater works professional operator); .
(10) Treatment works professional operator II (class II wastewater works professional operator); .
(11) Treatment works professional operator III (class III wastewater works professional operator); .
(12) Treatment works professional operator IV (class IV wastewater works professional operator); .
(13) Sewerage system professional operator I (class I wastewater collection professional operator); and .
(14) Sewerage system professional operator II (class II wastewater collection professional operator).
(B) The certification of any individual to operate a particular class of public water system, sewerage system, or treatment works shall also authorize such individual to be the professional operator of record of any other public water system, sewerage system, or treatment works as indicated in the tables below.

Public water systems: If an a professional operator holds a certification of the level below they may be the professional operator of record of those public water systems marked with an "X" below:

(C) Operators of record of a public water system, sewerage system, of treatment works, shall display a copy of their certificate for public examination at the treatment plant or principal office of the owner. A limited class A professional operator holds a facility-specific certificate and may not operate any other facilities or transfer the certificate to a different facility.
(D) The following charts demonstrate the hierarchy of water and wastewater certificates. The highest level of certification is at the top of the chart and certificates supersede any of the certificates below them in the chart. Once a professional operator achieves a level of certification that supersedes the certificate that is currently held, the lowest level of certificate will be invalid.
