Ohio Admin. Code 3769-5-28 - Identification of horse
(A) When a horse is entered, it must be
clearly identified by statement of its name, age,color, and sex.,the names of its sire and
dam and, if the dam was covered by more than one stallion, the names of all
covering stallions in order of service.
(B) Any alteration in the sex of a horse must
be reported and noted by the trainer to the racing secretary, or horse
identification office immediately and that office must note the same on the
foal certificate and notify the proper registry.
(C) Fillies and mares that have been bred
shall be reported to the racing secretary as having been bred prior to being
entered in a race. The secretary shall post on the bulletin board the names of
all fillies and mares that have been bred and to what stallion or stallions.
(D) A mare that has been bred
shall not be eligible to be entered in a claiming race unless written
certification of the stallion owner is attached to foal certificate showing the
fee for the stallion service has been satisfied and that the successful
claimant will not be responsible for the stallion fee.
