Ohio Admin. Code 4101:4-2-02 - Types and qualifications of inspectors
(A) Only an
"Authorized Inspector" employed by an "Authorized Inspection Agency"
shall
is permitted
to conduct inspections of boilers and pressure vessels during
construction and fabrication to determine compliance with the rules of the
board.
(B) Only a general or
special inspector shall
is permitted to conduct inservice periodic
inspections for boilers and repair and alteration inspections of boilers and
pressure vessels to determine compliance with the rules of the board.
(C) An applicant for examination as an
inspector of boilers and pressure vessels shall
is to be
qualified as prescribed in the "National Board" publication "NB-263, Rules for
National Board Inservice and New Construction Commissioned Inspectors" as
referenced in rule
4101:4-3-01 of the
Administrative Code.
(D) The
written examination administered by the superintendent
shall
is to be
the "National Board Commission Examination." The
examination shall be given four times each year, on the first Wednesday of
March, June, September, and December.
(E) The superintendent may allow an applicant
to sit for the examination at an "On- Demand" location accepted by the
"National Board" in accordance with "Part 2" of the "National Board"
publication "NB-263, Rules for National Board Inservice and New Construction
Commissioned Inspectors" as referenced in rule
4101:4-3-01 of the
Administrative Code.
