Ohio Admin. Code 4101:6-1-21 - Requirements for application for sterilization or sanitization approval

(A) No person shall sell secondhand articles of bedding or filling materials that are unsanitary unless such articles or materials have been sanitized or sterilized by a method and process approved by the division of industrial compliance as prescribed under rule 4101:6-1-23 of the Administrative Code in accordance with Chapter 3713. of the Revised Code and rules promulgated thereunder.
(A)(B) Persons or firms intending to operate sterilization plants shall either apply via electronic mail to Ohio.Bedding@com.state.oh.us or to the "Division of Industrial Compliance, 6606 Tussing Road, P.O. Box 4009, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, 43068-4005," and submit by submitting in duplicate, the application, as well as detailed plans and specifications of equipment and method of sterilization to be used.
(B)(C) No manufacturer, dealer, or distributor shall receive or purchase any secondhand filling material, feathers, down, or hair for use in the manufacture, renovation, or repair of an article of bedding or upholstered furniture from a sterilizer who is not approved as provided in paragraph (A) (B) of this rule4101:6-1-21 of the Administrative Code.
