Ohio Admin. Code 4758-5-06 - Requirements for licensure of independent chemical dependency counselors-clinical supervisor (LICDC-CS)
To be licensed as an independent chemical dependency counselor-clinical supervisor (LICDC-CS) the applicant shall hold an active LICDC license that is in good standing and shall :
(A)
Submit a formal application, including:
(1)
Suitable
documentation;
(2)
An application fee;
(3)
A personal
attestation statement agreeing to practice by the code of ethical standards
adopted by the board; and
(4)
A recommendation and suitable documentation as
follows:
(a)
Provided directly from the applicant's
supervisor.
(b)
Provided in a manner specified by the
board.
(B)
After approval of
the application by the board, receive a passing score on the IC&RC or other
board approved clinical supervisor examination, or provide documentation of a
valid license, certificate, or credentials issued under another chapter of the
Revised Code that authorizes the individual to engage in a profession whose
scope of practice includes the clinical supervision of substance use disorder
counseling, substance use disorder counseling, and diagnosing and treating
substance use disorder conditions.
(C)
Complete the
hours specified in paragraphs (C)(1) and (C)(2) of this rule.
(1)
Complete two
thousand hours of work experience or a combination of work experience plus a
supervised internship,
A minimum of
twenty per cent of the hours of substance use disorders counseling in the
clinical core functions;
(2)
Complete two
thousand hours of clinical substance use disorder supervisory work experience
as follows:
(a)
A minimum of two hundred hours shall be
face-to-face.
(b)
Performed under proper
supervision
(D)
Thirty hours of
approved clinical supervision specific education in paragraph (E) of this
rule:
(1)
Fifty
per cent of the total hours shall be completed within five years from the date
application.
(2)
Completion may be through:
(a)
Board approved
continuing education units (CEU),
(b)
Credits from an
accredited school or university, or
(c)
A combination of
paragraphs (D)(2)(a) and (D)(2)(b) of this
rule.
(E)
The education content and minimum hours as
follows:
(1)
Counselor development (minimum four hours);
(2)
Professional and
ethical standards (minimum four hours);
(3)
Program
development and quality assurance (minimum four hours);
(4)
Performance
evaluation (minimum four hours); and
(5)
Administration
(minimum four hours).
(F)
Requirements
completed under this provision are additional and are exclusive from the
LICDC.
(G)
The board shall have sole discretion to determine if
documentation submitted is suitable.
