Purpose. These rules prescribe standards and procedures to be
observed by personnel of state institutions operated by Division in obtaining
informed consent to significant procedures, as defined by these rules, from
patients of such state institutions. These rules do not apply to routine
medical procedures. Administration of significant procedures without informed
consent is permitted as described in OAR
309-114-0010(1)(b).
The purpose of these rules is to assure that the rights of patients are
protected with respect to significant procedures.
