Or. Admin. Code § 581-017-0450 - Establishment
(1) The Oregon CTE
Teacher Preparation Program is established pursuant to sections 1 and 11,
chapter 763, Oregon Laws 2015 (Enrolled HB 3072).
(2) The purpose of the Oregon CTE Teacher
Preparation Program is to facilitate the recruitment and retention of industry
professionals into the education profession as classroom teachers in career and
technical education through preparation in a Teacher Standards and Practices
approved educator program.
(3) To
accomplish the purpose of the CTE Teacher Preparation Program, the Oregon
Department of Education shall distribute funds to establish:
(a) A consortia of Teacher Standards and
Practices Commission approved teacher education institutions responsible for
developing coursework that fulfills licensure requirements established by the
Oregon Teacher Standards and Practice Commission for career and technical
education teachers; and
(b) A
network of providers of professional development for both pre-service and
in-service career and technical education teachers.
