Or. Admin. Code § 629-035-0040 - Forest Land Base Designation
(1) Following the process described in
subsection (2) of this section, all forest land shall be designated either as:
(a) Silviculturally capable of growing forest
tree species, as defined by the Forest Practices Reforestation Suitability
Standards as established by the Oregon Forest Practices Act (Silviculturally
Capable); or
(b) Not capable of
such growth (Non-Silviculturally Capable).
(2) Each district with forest land management
responsibility shall identify Silviculturally Capable and Non-Silviculturally
Capable lands in the district and display the designations on a map. The
district shall forward the designations and map to the State Forester for
approval. If approved by the State Forester, the State Forester shall forward
the recommended designations to the Board for approval or modification. The
Board shall adopt forest land base designations as an administrative
rule.
(3) Designations of forest
land under this section shall be reviewed by the appropriate district and, if
necessary, updated prior to the completion of management plans for any planning
area.
