Or. Admin. Code § 735-062-0370 - Issuance of Certificate of Competency
(1) Before DMV will issue a driver license or
driver permit to a person with a limited vision condition, a specialist must
issue a Certificate of Competency showing the person has successfully completed
a rehabilitation training program.
(2) To issue a Certificate of Competency, the
specialist must certify the person:
(a) Has
successfully completed a rehabilitation training program;
(b) Has demonstrated the physical, mental and
social driving skills necessary to safely operate a motor vehicle in a manner
that does not increase the likelihood of hazard or collision under the
restricted driving conditions allowed for a driver with a limited vision
condition; and
(c) Is able to
effectively use the bioptic telescopic lens for visual assistance in safely
operating a motor vehicle.
