22 Pa. Code § 4.82 - Exceptions
(a) The Secretary
may grant exceptions to specific provisions of this chapter when it is
necessary to adapt them to the curriculum needs of individual school entities
or to facilitate transition to the revised provisions of this chapter. Specific
exception may be made for school entities that develop or implement academic
standards that are comparable to or exceed those found in §
4.12 (relating to academic
standards). Exceptions may be granted under the following conditions:
(1) The request for an exception must be in
writing and include relevant information supporting the need for the
exception.
(2) The exception will
be valid for a limited term not to exceed 2 years.
(3) The request shall be made prior to
initiating the action requiring approval and shall have the prior approval of
the board of school directors.
(b) The Secretary will report annually to the
Board on the nature and status of requests for exceptions under this
section.
