49 Pa. Code § 21.145b - IV therapy curriculum requirements
(a) An IV therapy course provided as part of
the LPN education curriculum in §
21.203 (relating to specific
curriculum requirements for practical nursing programs) or as a stand-alone
course offered by a provider shall include instruction of the topics in §
21.203(d)(8). An
instructor of a stand-alone course shall have knowledge and skill in the aspect
of the course content taught.
(b)
Providers of stand-alone courses shall apply for approval from the Board before
offering an IV therapy course. The request for approval must include the
following:
(1) A course outline that includes
the components of the IV therapy course required under §
21.203(d)(8).
(2) A description of the methods of
instruction and the clinical learning experiences provided.
(3) A description of specific methodologies
and tools that evaluate the learner's achievement of the objectives.
(4) A list of faculty membership and
verification that the instructors have knowledge and skill in the aspect of the
content taught.
