49 Pa. Code § 21.30a - Continued competency
(a) A
registered nurse whose license has lapsed for 5 years or longer or has been
placed on inactive status for 5 years or longer, as permitted in section 11(b)
of the act (63 P.S. §
221(b)), may reactivate the
license by doing one of the following:
(1)
Successfully completing the initial licensing examination approved by the Board
and submitting the examination fee in
21.5 (relating to fees).
(2) Successfully completing a Board-approved
reactivation program, which requires passage of a nursing achievement
examination.
(3) Providing evidence
to the Board that the applicant has a current license and has practiced as a
registered nurse in another jurisdiction for at least 3,600 hours within the
last 5 years.
(b) A
registered nurse whose license has been suspended for 5 years or longer may
reactivate the license after complying with the terms of the suspension Order
by doing either of the following:
(1)
Successfully completing the initial licensing examination approved by the Board
and submitting the examination fee in
21.5.
(2) Successfully completing a Board-approved
reactivation program which requires passage of a nursing achievement
examination.
