(a) Designated representatives of the Board
will be authorized to make on-site visits to the office of registered
supervising physicians and medical care facilities utilizing physician
assistants to review the following:
(1)
Supervision of physician assistants.
(2) Maintenance of the protocols and
compliance with them.
(3)
Utilization in conformity with the provisions of this subchapter.
(4) Identification of physician
assistants.
(5) Compliance with
certification and registration requirements.
(b) Reports shall be submitted to the Board
and become a permanent record under the supervising physician's registration.
Deficiencies reported shall be reviewed by the Board and may provide a basis
for disciplinary action against the license of the physician assistant and the
license or registration, or both, of the supervising physician.
(c) The Board reserves the right to review
physician assistant utilization and records associated therewith, including
patient records, without prior notice to either the physician assistant or the
registered supervising physician. It will be considered a violation of this
subchapter for a supervising physician to refuse to undergo a review by the
Board.
