49 Pa. Code § 27.15 - Sanitary standards
(a) The
pharmacy and equipment shall be maintained in a clean and orderly condition and
in good repair.
(b) The pharmacy
shall comply with the health and sanitation statutes of the Commonwealth and of
the municipality and county in which the pharmacy is located.
(c) Waste material may not be permitted to
collect upon the floor, counter or other area of the pharmacy. The pharmacy
shall have a waste removal system adequate to maintain clean and sanitary
conditions.
(d) The prescription
area shall be dry and well ventilated, free from rodents, insects, dirt and
foreign material, and well lighted.
(e) Plumbing shall be in good repair and
working order.
(f) The prescription
area shall contain only appliances, instruments, equipment, materials, drugs,
medicines, chemicals and supplies necessary for the practice of pharmacy, as
set forth in section 2(11) of the act (63 P. S. §
390-2(11)), and other
equipment and supplies deemed reasonable for the operation and management of a
pharmacy as established by the Board.
(g) Persons working in the prescription area
shall be required to keep themselves and their apparel in a clean, sanitary and
professional manner.
