49 Pa. Code § 39.2 - Objectives
The following are the principal objectives of the Board:
(1) To investigate the
credentials of an applicant seeking licensure in this Commonwealth as a nursing
home administrator.
(2) To provide
a fair and uniform method of examining a nursing home administrator to evaluate
the administrator's knowledge of the field of nursing home administration and
to judge whether the administrator meets other applicable licensure
requirements.
(3) To establish a
standard of competence for nursing home administration.
(4) To provide an effective organization for
the scrutiny and evaluation of a licensed administrator practicing in a nursing
home.
(5) To investigate reported
misconduct, breaches of ethics or conduct prejudicial to the welfare of the
patients, the staff or the nursing home and to take appropriate action when
necessary.
(6) To evaluate the
standard of nursing home administration.
(7) To evaluate and approve programs of
continuing education and programs of study and training for nursing home
administrators.
(8) To educate the
public to understand that the practice of nursing home administration is a
profession which requires special training and experience.
