49 Pa. Code § 49.40 - Exemption and waiver
(a) An
individual applying for licensure in this Commonwealth for the first time shall
be exempted from the continuing education requirement for the biennial renewal
period following initial licensure.
(b) The Board may grant an extension or waive
all or a portion of the continuing education requirement for biennial renewal
upon request of a licensee. The request must be made in writing, with
appropriate documentation, and shall include a description of circumstances
sufficient to show why compliance is impossible. A waiver or extension request
will be evaluated by the Board on a case-by-case basis. Waivers and extensions
may be granted for serious illness, military service or other demonstrated
hardship. The Board will send written notification of its approval or denial of
a waiver or extension request.
