55 Pa. Code § 5100.74 - Notice to parents regarding voluntary inpatient treatment of minors
(a) A notice to
parents, guardian, or person standing in loco parentis of the
patient age 14 to 18 of acceptance for treatment shall be given by telephone
when possible, and also by delivery of Form MH-781 issued by the Department.
The notice shall include an explanation of the proposed treatment and the right
to be heard upon the filing of an objection.
(b) Whenever the director of the facility is
unable to determine the whereabouts of the parents, guardian, or person
standing in loco parentis, he shall take such action as he
deems appropriate, including notifying appropriate child welfare
agencies.
(c) In the event that a
parent, guardian, or person standing in loco parentis objects
to the voluntary examination and treatment, he may file an objection in writing
with the director of the facility or the administrator, who shall arrange for a
hearing under the act.
