58 Pa. Code § 633b.26 - [Effective until 6/14/2028] Split to Double Blackjack
(a) A certificate
holder may, if specified in its Rules Submission under §
601a.2 (relating to table games
Rules Submissions), offer to players a game variation entitled Split to Double
Blackjack, a variation of Blackjack in which players may only gain additional
cards through splitting or doubling down. Except as provided under this
section, Split to Double Blackjack shall follow the rules and procedures of
Blackjack, as outlined in Chapter 633a (relating to Blackjack).
(b) The layout for Split to Double Blackjack
shall be submitted to the Bureau of Gaming Operations for approval in
accordance with §
601a.10(a)
(relating to approval of table game layouts, signage and equipment) and
contain, at a minimum, all of the following:
(1) The name or log of the certificate
holder.
(2) A separate betting area
designated for the placement of the Blackjack wager for each player.
(3) A separate betting area designated for
the placement of the Blackjack or Bust wager for each player.
(4) The following inscriptions:
(i) Blackjack pays 2 to 1.
(ii) Insurance pays 2 to 1.
(iii) Dealer shall draw to hard 17 and stand
on all 18s, or other similar language approved by the Executive Director in
accordance with §
601a.10(a).
(iv) Hitting is not available on a Split to
Double Blackjack table, or other similar language. If the language is not
inscribed on the layout, a sign specifying that hitting is not available shall
be posted at each Split to Double Blackjack table.
(5) A separate betting area designated for
the placement of each optional wager offered by the certificate holder.
Optional wagers include those provided under §
633a.6(e)
(relating to wagers), Chapters 633b and 633c (relating to Blackjack side wagers
and variations- temporary regulations; and Blackjack side wagers and
variations).
(6) Inscriptions that
advise patrons of the payout odds or amounts for all permissible wagers offered
by the certificate holder. If the payout odds or amounts are not inscribed on
the layout, a sign identifying the payout odds or amounts for all permissible
wagers shall be posted at each Split to Double Blackjack table.
(c) Split to Double Blackjack
shall be played with at least six decks of cards that are identical in
appearance and at least one cover card.
(d) A player shall make both a Blackjack
wager and a Blackjack or Bust wager in equal amounts to participate in a round
of Split to Double Blackjack.
(e)
Split to Double Blackjack shall follow the procedures for dealing under §
633a.7 (relating to procedure for
dealing the cards; completion of each round of play), except that a player has
only five decisions:
(1) A player may split
as follows:
(i) A player may split their
initial two-card hand, regardless of the cards' values.
(ii) A player may split subsequent two-card
hands of identical value that are a result of a split.
(iii) Subsequent two-card hands created by
splitting, if not eligible for an additional split, shall follow the decisions
under paragraphs (2) and (3).
(2) A player may, except when they have a
Blackjack, elect to make a Double Down wager.
(i) The Double Down wager shall be between 1x
to 4x their initial Blackjack wager.
(ii) The remaining aspects of the Double Down
wager shall follow the rules and procedures of §
633a.10 (relating to Double Down
wager).
(3) A player may
stand and will receive no additional cards.
(4) A player may, if neither the dealer nor
player have Blackjack, surrender the player's initial two-card hand.
(i) The Blackjack or Bust wager shall be
lost.
(ii) The Blackjack wager
shall push.
(5) A player
may make an Insurance wager consistent with §
633a.8 (relating to Insurance
wager).
(f) The
Blackjack or Bust wager shall be settled as part of the settlement of wagers
under §
633a.7(o).
(1) The Blackjack or Bust wager shall win if
the player has a Blackjack or the dealer's hand busts.
(2) The Blackjack or Bust wager shall lose if
the player's hand busts, regardless of whether the dealer's hand
busts.
(g) The
certificate holder shall pay each winning Blackjack wager at odds of 1 to 1
with the exception of Blackjack, which shall be paid at odds of 2 to
1.
(h) The certificate holder shall
pay out winning Insurance wagers at odds of 2 to 1.
(i) The certificate holder shall pay out
winning Blackjack or Bust wagers at the odds of one of the following paytables
selected by the certificate holder in its Rules Submission filed in accordance
with §
601a.2:

Split to Double Blackjack shall not be subject to the maximum payout limit
contemplated under §
633a.13(o)
(relating to payout odds; payout limitation).
