S.D. Admin. R. 20:10:36:29 - Self-insurance

If the interconnection customer is self-insured with an established record of self-insurance, the interconnection customer may comply with the self-insurance requirements of this section in lieu of those required by § 20:10:36:26. At least 30 days prior to the date of initial operation, the interconnection customer shall provide to the public utility evidence of an acceptable plan to self-insure to a level of coverage equivalent to that required under § 20:10:36:26.

If an interconnection customer ceases to self-insure to the required level or if the interconnection customer is unable to provide continuing evidence of its ability to self-insure, the interconnection customer shall immediately obtain the coverage otherwise required by this chapter.
