S.D. Admin. R. 67:42:18:01 - Definitions

Terms used in this chapter mean:

(1) "Household member" a person who uses the home of the kinship foster parent applicant or a licensed kinship foster home as a permanent or part-time residence and who may have contact with any child placed in the home;
(2) "Kinship child," an abused or neglected child, as defined by SDCL 26-8A-2, who is considered for placement or has been placed with a kinship foster parent;
(3) "Kinship foster home," the permanent or part-time home of the applicant or licensed kinship foster parent;
(4) "Kinship foster parent," an individual who is a relative or custodian of a kinship child, or another individual not related by birth, adoption, or marriage to the kinship child who has an emotionally significant relationship with the kinship child and provides any of the services described in this article to the kinship child; and
(5) "Licensing agency," the department or a child-placement agency licensed by the state.
