Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 0200-01-.09 - EXAMINATIONS
(1) Passing score. The minimum passing score on all
examinations held by the Board shall be seventy (70).
(2) Instructor examination. Any person who desires a license to
instruct in a school shall submit an application to the Board on the prescribed
form. The application shall be accompanied by satisfactory proof the applicant
has been a master barber for three (3) years or has completed and passed a
Board-approved instructor training course consisting of at least three hundred
(300) hours. The examination of applicants for certificates of registration as
an instructor shall consist of a theory examination and a practical
demonstration. An applicant who attains a passing score on one (1) part of the
examination shall be excused from retaking such part for up to three (3)
additional examination attempts.
(3) Models. All examination models must be male and at least
sixteen (16) years of age. No owner of a barber school or college of barbering,
master barber, barber student, barber instructor, or other applicant for
examination may serve as an examination model.
