Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 0240-02-08-.03 - ENROLLMENT CERTIFICATION
(1) Each
institution should include in its enrollment or admissions information the
requirement that every male to whom this rule applies must certify registration
with the Selective Service (or a valid reason for not registering) prior to
being considered eligible for enrollment.
(2) In order to establish compliance with
this requirement, a statement shall be included in the admissions application
which will require male applicants to certify registration with the Selective
Service (or to provide a valid reason for not registering).
(3) If the draft registration requirement
does not apply to an applicant, (i.e., the applicant is female) the admissions
application should provide space to so state, and request an explanation as to
why the requirement does not apply.
(4) The institution shall determine as
ineligible for enrollment any applicant who fails to complete the certification
of registration statement, and shall timely notify the applicant of this
determination.
