Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 0360-07-01-.02 - FIREFIGHTER ELIGIBILITY
(1) For the
purpose of qualifying for the Volunteer Educational Incentive Pay Program, a
person must meet the following criteria:
(a)
Serve as a volunteer firefighter as defined in T.C.A. § 4-24-201(4) with a
fire department recognized pursuant to T.C.A. §§ 68-102-301 et seq.;
and
(b) Complete thirty (30) hours
of in-service training in firefighting or prevention of fires approved by the
Commission.
(2) For the
purpose of qualifying for the Career Educational Incentive Pay Program, a
person must meet the following criteria:
(a)
Serve in the employ of a municipality, county or political subdivision as a
full-time employee of the fire department recognized pursuant to T.C.A.
§§ 68-102-301 et seq.; and
(b) Complete forty (40) hours of in-service
training in firefighting or prevention of fires approved by the Commission and
be actively engaged in such work.

(1) For the purpose of qualifying for the pay supplement, a person shall meet all of the following criteria:
(a) Any person in the employ of a unit of government who is a full-time employee of the department of such unit;
(b) Is trained in fire fighting or prevention of fires and is actively engaged in such work; and
(c) Whose primary livelihood is derived from such work.
