Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 0470-01-.13 - PROFESSIONAL ETHICS
(1) Professional
representation and responsibilities.
(a) A
licensee shall not misrepresent professional qualifications or
credentials.
(b) A licensee shall
not make any false or misleading claims about the efficacy of any dietetic
services.
(c) A licensee shall not
permit the use of his name for the purpose of certifying that dietetic services
have been rendered unless that licensee has provided or supervised the
provision of those services.
(d) A
licensee shall not promote or endorse products in a manner that is false or
misleading.
(e) The licensee must
present adequate information and unbiased interpretations of controversial
information to clients.
(f) A
licensee shall maintain knowledge and skills required for professional
competence.
(g) A licensee shall
not be addicted to or dependent upon alcohol or other habit-forming drugs or be
a habitual user of narcotics, barbiturates, amphetamines, hallucinogenics, or
other drugs having similar effects upon the competency of the
licensee.
(h) A licensee shall have
the responsibility of reporting alleged violations of board law or rules to the
Investigations section of Health Related Boards.
(i) The licensee conducts himself with
honesty, integrity, and fairness in all aspects of professional life.
(j) The licensee remains free of conflict of
interests and promotes or endorses products in a manner that is neither false
nor misleading.
(k) The licensee
assumes responsibilities and accountability for personal competence in practice
and recognition of limits of his ability and adherence to accepted standards of
practice.
(1) A licensee
shall not make any false, misleading, or deceptive claims in any advertisement,
announcement, or in competitive bidding.
