Direct Supervision as used in T.C.A. §
63-17-206(b) is
defined so as to require a sponsoring licensee to direct, review, and approve
each act of service performed by an apprentice licensee in connection with the
practice of dispensing and/or fitting hearing instruments, but does not require
the constant actual physical presence of the sponsoring licensee.
(1) A sponsor must review and co-sign all
hearing tests and ear mold impressions given by an apprentice.
(2) A sponsor must review and co-sign all
bills of sale prepared by an apprentice.
(3) A sponsor must keep a record of hearing
tests and bills of sale prepared by an apprentice.
(4) These records must be at all times during
normal business hours available for on-site inspection(s) by a Council member
or designee during the first ninety (90) days of the apprenticeship
period.
