1 Tex. Admin. Code § 20.401 - Thresholds for Appointment of Campaign Treasurer by a General-Purpose Committee
(a) A
general-purpose committee may not accept political contributions exceeding the
aggregate amount of political contributions or political expenditures specified
in Tex. Elec. Code §
253.031(b),
as amended by Figure 1 in 1 TAC §
18.31 without filing a campaign
treasurer appointment with the commission.
(b) Unless the committee's campaign treasurer
appointment was filed not later than the 30th day before the appropriate
election day, a general-purpose committee may not knowingly make or authorize
campaign contributions or campaign expenditures exceeding the aggregate amount
of political contributions or political expenditures specified in Tex. Elec.
Code §
253.031(b),
as amended by Figure 1 in 1 TAC §
18.31 to support or oppose a
candidate in a primary or general election for the following:
(1) a statewide office;
(2) a seat in the state
legislature;
(3) a seat on the
State Board of Education;
(4) a
multi-county district office; or
(5) a judicial district office filled by
voters of only one county.
