19 Tex. Admin. Code § 2.354 - Approval of New Self-Supporting Programs and Tracks
(a) Requests for Self-Supporting Status for
New Programs.
(1) A Public Community or
Technical College, Public University, or Health Related Institution may request
Coordinating Board approval to offer a degree program or track under
self-supporting status in its application materials for the proposed program.
The determination of self-supporting status will be approved according to the
same approval levels required for the proposed new program approval outlined in
chapter 2 of this title (relating to Academic and Workforce Education) and any
applicable criteria under this subchapter.
(2) Board Staff will evaluate the request for
self-supporting status according to:
(A)
Program Approval. A proposed new program, including one that is self-supported
or has a proposed self-supporting track, is subject to approval according to
the criteria listed in §
2.5 of this subchapter (relating
to General Criteria for Program Approval).
(B) Self-Supporting Status. An institution
that proposes to offer a degree program as self-supporting is subject to the
additional criteria and approval under this subchapter.
(b) Approval. If the request for
self-supporting status is approved for the new degree program, Coordinating
Board staff will add the program to the institutions' inventory of programs
maintained and publicly available for each public institution.
