19 Tex. Admin. Code § 231.755 - Professional Support Personnel Requiring Other Professional License
A person may not be employed by a school district to perform services within the following professions unless the person holds the appropriate credential or license from the appropriate state agency for that profession. Educator certification is not required for a school district assignment to provide services that are within the scope of that profession.
(1) Associate School Psychologist.
(2) Audiologist.
(3) Licensed Professional Counselor.
(4) Marriage and Family Therapist.
As long as a person was employed by a school district before September 1, 2011,
to perform marriage and family therapy, as defined by the Texas Occupations
Code (TOC), §502.002, and remains employed by the same school district,
the person is not required to hold a license as a marriage and family therapist
to perform marriage and family therapy with that school district.
(5) Nurse.
(6) Occupational Therapist.
(7) Physical Therapist.
(8) Physician.
(9) School Psychologist.
(10) Social Worker.
(11) Speech-Language Pathologist. An
assignment to provide Speech Therapy Services is allowed with a certificate
authorized by the TOC, §401.05
