26 Tex. Admin. Code § 256.41 - Periodicity of Medical and Dental Check-Ups
(a) Medical check-ups periodicity. Clients
are eligible to receive a comprehensive medical check-up at the intervals set
forth in the TMPPM and current THSteps outreach and informing materials
distributed to eligible clients and their families. The periodicity of medical
check-ups is at least as frequent as that recommended by the American Academy
of Pediatrics. Clients are also eligible to receive a medical check-up, even if
one is not due under the periodicity schedule, if:
(1) there are indications that a health
screening is medically necessary; or
(2) required to meet a state or federal law
requirement, such as a child entering Head Start or foster care, or in a
pre-adoptive placement.
(b) Dental check-ups periodicity. Clients are
eligible to receive dental check-ups at six-month intervals, based on the date
of the client's last dental check-up. Clients less than three years of age may
be eligible to receive dental check-ups at three-month intervals if identified
during a dental visit as being at high risk for developing dental
disease.
