26 Tex. Admin. Code § 749.1409 - What general dental requirements must my agency meet?
(a) A child in your care must receive dental
care:
(1) Initially, according to the
requirements in § 749.1153 of Title 40 (relating to What are the dental
requirements when I admit a child into care?);
(2) At as early an age as
necessary;
(3) As needed for relief
of pain and infections; and
(4) As
needed for ongoing maintenance of dental health.
(b) The child's record must include a written
record of each dental examination that consists of:
(1) A copy of the results of the dental
examination;
(2) Follow-up
treatment recommended and any appointments scheduled; and
(3) A notation of the child's refusal to
accept dental treatment, if applicable.
(c) For a child in the conservatorship of the
department, you must supplement any information already documented in the
child's health passport in order to comply with subsection (b) of this section.
In your written record for the child, you are not required to repeat
information that is already in the child's health passport.
(d) You must obtain follow-up dental work
indicated by the examination, such as treatment of cavities and
cleaning.
