30 Tex. Admin. Code § 114.72 - Local Advisory Panels
(a) The
commissioners court of a participating county may appoint one or more local
advisory panels to provide advice on Low Income Vehicle Repair Assistance,
Retrofit, and Accelerated Vehicle Retirement Program (LIRAP) and to assist in
identifying vehicles with intrinsic value that make these vehicles existing or
future collectibles. A vehicle identified under this section may be sold to an
individual if the vehicle is:
(1) repaired
and brought into compliance;
(2)
removed from the state;
(3) removed
from an affected county; or
(4)
stored for future restoration and cannot be registered in an affected county
except under Transportation Code, §
502.274 or §
502.275.
(b) A commissioners court may
delegate all or part of the financial and administrative matters to any of the
local advisory panels that it appoints.
(c) A local advisory panel may consist of
representatives from:
(1) automobile
dealerships;
(2) automotive repair
industry;
(3) safety inspection
facilities;
(4) the general
public;
(5) antique and vintage car
clubs;
(6) local nonprofit
organizations; and
(7) locally
affected governments.
