34 Tex. Admin. Code § 41.3 - Retirees Advisory Committee
(a) The
task and purpose of the Retirees Advisory Committee (Committee) is to:
(1) hold public hearings on group insurance
benefits;
(2) recommend to the
Board of Trustees of TRS (Board) minimum standards and features of the plan or
plans that it considers appropriate; and
(3) recommend to the Board desirable changes
in rules and legislation affecting the program.
(b) The Board will appoint members and
officers of the Committee.
(c) A
majority of the Committee will constitute a quorum.
(d) The executive director of TRS will
provide a secretary to the Committee to prepare minutes of the Committee's
meetings. The executive director shall be custodian of the records of the
Committee.
(e) The executive
director may designate the time, dates, and place of the meetings of the
Committee. The Committee shall meet at least twice per year, and at the call of
the Board.
(f) In the event of an
emergency, a majority of the Committee's members may call a meeting by
notifying the executive director in writing at least 10 days before the
meeting.
(g) The executive director
shall file all meeting notices for the Committee as required by the Texas Open
Meetings law.
(h) The Committee
will report to the Benefits Committee of the Board or directly to the Board as
appropriate.
