37 Tex. Admin. Code § 343.222 - Heating, Cooling, and Ventilation
(a)
The facility shall provide fully functioning heating and cooling systems
adequate for the square footage of the facility. However, areas of a facility
from which residents are restricted (e.g., mechanical rooms, storage rooms,
etc.) are exempt from this requirement.
(b) The facility shall provide a fully
functioning ventilation system adequate for the square footage of the
facility.
(c) The facility shall
maintain an alternate means of ventilation in the event that regular power is
interrupted. The alternate means of ventilation shall ensure there is a
mechanical means of bringing fresh air into and exhausting stagnant air out of
all resident-occupied housing areas, such as placing an industrial-sized fan in
front of an open door or window to bring in fresh air and placing another
industrial-sized fan in front of another door or window to exhaust stagnant
air.
(d) Documentation of any
malfunctions or repairs made to the heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
shall be maintained in the facility's maintenance log.
