37 Tex. Admin. Code § 4.32 - Registered Gross Weight Defined
No commercial vehicle or combination of vehicles shall be required to register for an amount greater than its actual gross weight or, in the event that the vehicle or combination of vehicles is overloaded, the vehicle or combination of vehicles shall not be required to be registered for an amount greater than the gross weight allowed for such vehicle or combination of vehicles. This section will apply whether the operation is inside or outside an incorporated city, town, or village.
