40 Tex. Admin. Code § 807.283 - Attendance Record Keeping

(a) The following requirements are for non-Title IV schools:
(1) A school shall maintain a master record of attendance on each student that clearly indicates the name of the program, program begin and end dates, dates of attendance, and the scheduled hours each day.
(2) Each instructor shall maintain a record of attendance, which shall record the instructor's name, program name, subject name, date, number of scheduled hours for that date, and the hours of absence. Entries in the record of attendance shall be made in ink or other permanent medium, including other permanent computer records, and shall not be changed.
(b) Nothing in this chapter prevents a Title IV school from voluntarily using attendance as a manner of fulfilling the requirements of this chapter.
