40 Tex. Admin. Code § 819.3 - Roles and Responsibilities of the Texas Workforce Commission and CRD
(a)
Responsibilities of the Agency:
(1) Establish
policies for CRD;
(2) Appoint CRD
director by and through the Agency's executive director;
(3) Supervise CRD director by and through the
Agency's executive director in administering the activities of CRD;
(4) Serve as the state Fair Employment
Practices Agency (FEPA), which is authorized, with respect to unlawful
employment practices, to:
(A) seek
relief;
(B) grant relief;
and
(C) institute civil
proceedings; and
(5)
Serve as the state Fair Housing Assistance Program (FHAP), which is authorized,
with respect to unlawful housing practices, to:
(A) seek relief;
(B) grant relief; and
(C) institute civil proceedings.
(b) Responsibilities of
CRD:
(1) Administer Texas Labor Code, Chapter
21; Texas Property Code, Chapter 301; and Texas Government Code §
437.204 and
Subchapter I; and
(2) Collect,
analyze, and report statewide information regarding employment and housing
discrimination complaints filed with CRD, EEOC, HUD, local commissions, and
municipalities in Texas to be included in CRD's annual report to the Governor
and the Texas legislature.
