40 Tex. Admin. Code § 844.81 - Postponement and Continuance
(a) On the
hearing officer's own motion, or for good cause, at a party's request, the
hearing officer may postpone or continue a hearing.
(b) Requests for a continuance or
postponement may be made informally by a party, either orally or in writing, to
the hearing officer.
(c) The
hearing officer shall use his or her best judgement to determine when to grant
a continuance or postponement of a hearing to secure all necessary evidence and
to be fair to the parties.
(d) The
notice of the hearing must indicate the times and places at which the hearing
may be continued unless waived by the parties.
