Utah Admin. Code R162-2g-310 - Application for Licensure or Certification Through Reciprocity
An individual who is licensed or certified as an appraiser by another state may be licensed or certified in Utah by reciprocity on the following conditions:
(1) The
applicant shall provide evidence that:
(a) the
state in which the applicant is licensed requires appraisal pre-licensing
education that is:
(i) approved by that state;
and
(ii) substantially equivalent
in number to the hours required for the license or certification for which the
applicant is applying in Utah;
(b) the applicant's pre-licensing education
included either:
(i) the 15-hour National
USPAP Course; or
(ii) equivalent
education as determined through the course approval program of the AQB;
and
(c) the applicant has
passed an examination that has been approved by the AQB for the license or
certification for which the applicant is applying.
(2) The applicant shall:
(a) obtain and study the Utah Real Estate
Appraiser Licensing and Certification Act and the rules promulgated thereunder;
and
(b) sign an attestation that
the applicant understands and will abide by both the statute and the
rules.
(3) If the
applicant resides outside of Utah, the applicant shall sign an irrevocable
consent to service authorizing the division to receive service of any lawful
process on behalf of the applicant in any non-criminal proceeding arising out
of the applicant's practice as an appraiser in this state.
