Utah Admin. Code R313-15-101 - Radiation Protection Programs
(1)
Each licensee or registrant shall develop, document, and implement a radiation
protection program sufficient to ensure compliance with the provisions of Rule
R313-15. See Section
R313-15-1102
for recordkeeping requirements relating to these programs.
(2) The licensee or registrant shall use, to
the extent practical, procedures and engineering controls based upon sound
radiation protection principles to achieve occupational doses and doses to
members of the public that are as low as is reasonably achievable
(ALARA).
(3) The licensee or
registrant shall, at intervals not to exceed 12 months, review the radiation
protection program content and implementation.
(4) To implement the ALARA requirements of
Subsection R313-15-101(2), and notwithstanding the requirements in Section

or registrants such that the individual member of the public likely to receive
the highest dose will not be expected to receive a total effective dose
equivalent in excess of 0.1 mSv (0.01 rem) per year from these emissions. If a
licensee or registrant subject to this requirement exceeds this dose
constraint, the licensee or registrant shall report the exceedance as provided
in Section
R313-15-1203
and promptly take appropriate corrective action to ensure against
recurrence.
