Utah Admin. Code R495-830-7 - Continuing Education, Certification and Training Minimum Requirements
(1) A forensic evaluator shall:
(a) maintain a license in good professional
standing;
(b) complete and maintain
forensic evaluator certification required by the Department including:
(i) a certification exam;
(ii) initial and on-going training;
and
(ii) initial and periodic
peer-review of redacted work sample evaluations;
(c) attend and complete any required forensic
training assigned by the Department;
(d) obtain continuing education credits
related to the competence, skills, practice and ethics of forensic evaluation,
and submit documentation of completion of credits every two years to the
Department as required by certification and professional license; and
(e) follow guidelines and recommendations for
forensic evaluations as specified by the appropriate governing body for the
general and specialty practice of forensic psychology and psychiatry, and any
applicable laws.
(2) A
forensic evaluator otherwise qualified under this rule shall lose such
qualification status if the forensic evaluator is found to have engaged in
unprofessional, unethical or unlawful conduct as determined by the
Department.
