Utah Admin. Code R500-2-3 - Program Administration
(1) The
Department of Health and Human Services shall establish an office of ombudsman,
which includes the disabilities ombudsman program. The office shall be
responsible for the administration of the disabilities ombudsman
program.
(2) The ombudsman shall
meet the following minimum qualifications:
(a)
executive and administrative experience;
(b) experience in laws and policies regarding
individuals with a disability;
(c)
leadership and program management skills; and (b) negotiation and problem
resolution skills.
(3)
The ombudsman shall ensure the rights and privileges of an individual with a
disability are upheld.
(4) The
ombudsman shall review, as needed, procedures of state entities that serve
individuals with a disability.
(5)
The ombudsman shall develop a website that includes training and information
regarding:
(a) the role and duties of the
ombudsman;
(b) the rights and
privileges of an individual with a disability; and
(c) services available in the state to an
individual with a disability.
