Utah Admin. Code R614-3-8 - General Safety Requirements
A.
Good housekeeping is the first law of accident prevention and should be a
primary concern of all employers and employees. Floors and platforms shall be
free of dangerous projections or obstructions and shall be maintained in good
repair and reasonably free from oil, grease, water or other materials of
similar nature.
B. Where there is a
risk of injury from hair entanglement in moving parts of machinery, employees
shall confine their hair to eliminate the hazard.
C. Clothing shall be appropriate for the work
being done. Loose clothing which can become entangled in moving machinery shall
not be worn where an entanglement hazard exists. Clothing saturated or
impregnated with flammable liquids, corrosive substances, irritant, oxidizing
agents or other toxic materials shall be removed as soon as practicable and
shall not be worn until properly cleaned.
D. Wrist watches, rings, or other jewelry
shall not be worn on the job where they constitute a safety hazard.
E. Employees who do not understand or speak
the English language shall not be assigned to any duty or place where the lack
or partial lack of understanding or speaking English might adversely affect
their safety or that of other employees.
