Utah Admin. Code R614-4-6 - Electrical
A. All electrical
switches, controls, motors, wiring and equipment located in explosive material
plants shall conform to the requirements of 29 CFR 1910 Chapter S
(Electrical).
B. In any operations
where a continuous supply of power is required, the lack of which may cause a
hazard to employees an alternate source of power shall be provided.
C. The primary electrical supply to an
explosives area shall be so arranged that it can be cut off by switches located
at one or more central points away from the area.
D. When static electricity is a hazard
nonsparking conductive floors and work surfaces or other approved methods to
control and disperse static electricity is required, continuity of grounding on
all mechanical devices shall be assured.
E. Only artificial lighting devices approved
for the location shall be permitted in explosive areas.
