Utah Admin. Code R649-3-22 - Completion Into Two or More Pools
1. The completion of a single well into more
than one pool may be permitted by submitting an application to the division and
securing its approval.
1.1. The application
shall be submitted on Form 9, Sundry Notice and Report and shall be accompanied
by an exhibit showing the location of any well on contiguous oil and gas leases
or drilling units overlying the pool.
1.2. The application shall set forth any
material facts involved and the manner and method of completion
proposed.
2. If oil or
gas is to be produced from two or more pools open to each other through the
same string of casing so that commingling will take place, the application must
also be accompanied by a description of the method used to account for and to
allocate production from each pool so commingled.
3. The application shall include an affidavit
showing that the operator has provided a copy of the application to the owners
of any contiguous oil and gas leases or drilling units overlying the pool.
3.1. If none of these owners file a written
objection to the application within 15 days after the date the application is
filed with the division, the application may be considered and approved by the
division without a hearing.
3.2. If
a written objection is filed that cannot be resolved administratively, the
application may be approved only after notice and hearing by the
board.
