Utah Admin. Code R650-217-1 - Fire Extinguishers Required
(1) A motorboat operator shall ensure the
motorboat has on board a fire extinguisher in the quantity and sizes set out in
the below Table 1.

(2) A
motorboat operator is not required to have a fire extinguisher on board the
vessel if the vessel is:
(a) less than 26 feet
in length;
(b) of open
construction; and
(c) not carrying
passengers for hire.
(3)
If a motorboat is not equipped with an engine compartment, a motorboat operator
is not required to have a fixed extinguishing system on board the
vessel.
(4) If a motorboat operator
is required to have a B-II size fire extinguisher on board a vessel, the
operator shall place the B-II size fire extinguisher near the stern.
(5) If a motorboat is not equipped with a
galley and the motorboat operator is required to carry a B-II size fire
extinguisher on board the vessel, the operator shall place the B-II size fire
extinguisher midship.
(6) A vessel
operator shall ensure each fire extinguisher carried on board a vessel pursuant
to this rule is properly charged.
