Utah Admin. Code R765-613-4 - Application Process
(1) A qualified
applicant may be reimbursed up to half of tuition and fees with a maximum of
$5,000 per year, subject to funding. If the total applicant awards exceed
available funding in any given year, the board shall reduce reimbursement
amounts evenly across all qualified applicants, maintaining that the minimum
amounts designated by Subsection
53B-8-112(4) for
particular rural counties are met.
(2) To qualify, an applicant must be:
(a) a certified peace officer, currently
employed by a Utah law enforcement agency,
(b) employed by a Utah law enforcement agency
as a certified peace officer for three consecutive years prior to the
completion of the academic year for which the applicant is seeking
reimbursement,
(c) seeking a
post-secondary degree in the area of criminal justice from a credit-granting
institution in the state system of higher education; and
(d) employed by a Utah law enforcement agency
as a certified peace officer for one additional year after the completion of
that academic year.
(3)
The application form shall be available at the board's website,
highereduutah.org. An applicants must complete the entire application and
include all required documentation and certifications including,
(a) employer certification from an authorized
representative of each employer for the four year period; and
(b) a copy of each tuition payment receipt
and transcript with final grades for the enrollment period.
