Utah Admin. Code R911-5-205 - [Effective 7/10/2025] Reciprocity for EMRs, EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics
(1) The bureau may
license an individual as an EMR, EMT, AEMT, or paramedic who is licensed or
certified by another state or certifying body if the applicant provides
documentation that the applicant's out-of-state training and experience
requirements are equivalent to or greater than Utah's requirements.
(2) An individual seeking reciprocity for
licensure in the state based on out-of-state training and experience shall
submit to the bureau:
(a) the applicable fees
and a completed reciprocity application;
(b) information necessary for a background
clearance, including social security number, fingerprints, and other
information required by Section
53-2d-410;
(c) documentation of having completed a
cardiopulmonary resuscitation course, no more than two years before the date of
application, that is consistent with a bureau approved course; and
(d) a current certification from the National
Registry of Emergency Medical Technician for the current license
level.
(3) A paramedic
candidate shall also submit documentation of successful completion of Advanced
Care Life Support or equivalent.
(4) AEMT and paramedic licensed personnel
shall submit documentation of completion of a pediatric course approved by the
bureau, completed no more than two years before the date of
application.
